Sci Fi 'Ghost Hunters' Investigating Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse and Fort Constitution

The Sci-Fi Channel program “Ghost Hunters” will be shooting Oct. 6 and 7 at the Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse and Fort Constitution, said Jeremy D’Entremont, co-chairman of the Friends of Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse.

D’Entremont is hoping folks with “unusual or spooky” stories about the location will be in touch.

He told Spotlight magazine that only last week he met up with a woman who “absolutely swears” she saw a man in an old-fashioned, keeper’s uniform on the walkway in front of lighthouse, “then he was suddenly gone.”

D’Entremont has collected numerous stories for the show but is always looking for more. “If you’ve had any unusual sightings or heard something strange … I’d love to hear it, and maybe (you would) like to share it with the TV show too.”

Before the TV crew arrives, D’Entremont is heading off to the Hudson River area in New York to take photos of lighthouses for an upcoming book. This will be D’Entremont’s fifth solo book. “I’m also finishing up my book on lighthouses …. It’s out next year. The Hudson book is rather short, a travel guide. But my new book will be an in-depth history, 500 to possibly 700 pages.”

D’Entremont’s juggling it all along with his New England Lighthouse Tour company, which just announced its first overnight haunted lighthouse tour, (Oct. 25/26), in cooperation with the New England Ghost Project. NEGP’s resident medium/psychic will take part.
